Audio Visual Guidelines

Preparing Your PowerPoint Presentation

To help ensure that your presentation runs smoothly, please follow these guidelines:

  • Prepare your presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 or newer, in a Windows-compatible 16:9 widescreen format.
  • Personal laptops cannot be connected in the session rooms.
  • Begin with a title slide that includes your presentation title, name, and affiliation. A PowerPoint template is available: Click here to download.
  • We recommend including a conflict-of-interest disclosure on your second slide and verbally disclosing it to the audience. If you have nothing to disclose, simply state: “I have no conflicts of interest to disclose.”
  • Please do not include the names or logos of commercial companies on your presentation slides.
  • Use a light background whenever possible to ensure that text, figures, and images are easy to read.
  • Presenters who plan to incorporate audience polling may use their own Slido account. To facilitate this, please notify us in advance (by September 14) and arrange for someone to be available to log in and manage the Slido session throughout your presentation.
  • If your presentation contains videos:
    • Embed the videos in your PowerPoint presentation whenever possible.
    • Bring the original video files on a USB drive as a backup.
  • If you prepare your presentation on a Mac:
    • Test it on a Windows computer before travelling.
    • Convert Keynote and Prezi presentations to PowerPoint format.

We also recommend bringing a backup copy of your presentation on a USB flash drive and, if possible, keeping a second copy in your luggage or cloud storage.

Onsite Check-In and Presentation Upload

All presentations must be uploaded in the Speaker Preparation Centre. PowerPoint presentations sent by email to the Program Manager will not be accepted due to the high volume of presentations.

TTS plans to record all presentations for posting on the Congress WebApp, accessible to registrants only, and in the TTS Multimedia Library, accessible to members only. Our team will collect your consent when you check in at the Speaker Presentation Centre.

  • Upload your presentation at least three hours before the start of your session.
  • If you are presenting in an early-morning session, upload your presentation the day before
  • Changes can be made until 30 minutes before your session begins.
  • Presentations cannot be uploaded directly in the session room.
  • Once uploaded, your presentation will automatically be transferred to your presentation room.
  • Personal laptops cannot be connected in the session rooms.
  • Presenter View will be available at the lectern.
  • Please arrive in your session room 5–10 minutes before your session to introduce yourself to the moderators and become familiar with the room setup.
  • To help keep the scientific program on schedule, please remain within your allocated presentation time.
